In Remembrance

As the newscasts of the 35W bridge falling played on the TV, I knit this scarf. I knit in my shock, sorrow and prayers for those who were hurt, whose families who have lost someone. I knit as if I could create a fabric to span the broken lengths of the bridge.

Today I wear the scarf as the new 35W bridge is opened up for traffic. I wear it to remember the tragedy and to pray for the people who still carry wounds.

I remember.
